When a giant named Hagrid broke the door of little mangy hut he and the Dursley’s were staying at, he had no idea what was happening. Part of him was scared straight. Another part of him, however, was also curious. Who was this man? Or was he a man? What did he want?
Then the giant started to say he was a…what was that word again? Oh yeah—a wizard.
Now how could that be? Harry was just the little boy that lived in the small closet in his Uncle Vernon’s house. There was nothing special about it. Mostly he just got into trouble without knowing what was happening. No…the guy was a loon.
Not to mention that Uncle Vernon wanted to kill the guy, and Hagrid just stood his ground, yelling back. Nobody met Uncle Vernon head on in an argument.
Then, the Hagrid guy did something that completely shocked Harry: he gave him a copy of the letter Harry so wanted to see.
And then Harry’s life changed forever…
Harry was swept into a world where everyone knew his name. Everyone wanted to shake his hand. Before, Harry had to dodge Dudley’s gang to avoid being crushed. Now, he was famous.
It was enough to make Harry’s head swirl.
Some people get the kind of surprises that brighten their day. They may find a stash pile of money in a forgotten purse, or be surprised with flowers from their sweetheart.
When Harry got a surprise, it changed his life forever.
Harry is one lucky guy.
